We are getting near the end of the backlog. Months ago, eons ago, really, we spoke with Mr. American Dagda, who called in from somewhere in Appalachia. He had the bad manners to show up on the screen with better hair than me and a more robust beard than the Crackpot's but was otherwise delightful to speak with, telling us about his experiences on both sides of blade violence and his and his family's search for identity in the American empire's boiling pot of globohomo erasure.

I was progressively inebriated throughout this conversation so let this be a guide to my more than likely progressively incoherent thoughts.
I tried off and on to add some context to my experience with a little background but if my shoddy memory’s worth anything, it was more of a garbled mess. I am not what you’d probably consider a true ruralite. While most of my kin still live out in the sticks, my parents followed the urgings of their own to get a proper education and make a better life for themselves, and to that end became proper professionals and properly suburban. I, in turn, went through the city public school system with all of its diverse joys. So a city school-day, house in the burbs, and weekends in the hills. After a long sojourn of mayhem and misery amongst the “white trash” urban underclass I’ve spent the past 10 years running back towards those hills. I suppose I am at least an American Cultural Mongrel.
My point on the ridiculousness of white unity, without rehashing two thousand years of internal European predation which frankly should be enough, can be summed up as it’s just not realistic. I mentioned as an example that recent genetic testing in Britain revealed clusters that don’t reflect a big blended mass of people or even modern nation states but the boundaries of 7th century kingdoms. They live on an island the size of Kansas and the English, Scottish, and Welsh aren’t even just the English, Scottish, and Welsh but a dozen smaller ethnic groups. Ethnic groups that took a thousand years to forge into a nation and that should reasonably have their own interests at heart. And you want to talk about how the Irish, Spanish, Greeks, and Finns (or their diaspora) need to find common cause? I’ve got my hands full looking after my own thanks.
To elaborate a bit more on my first encounter with a blade, I was happy to oblige when the fella I’d squared off with wanted to just close and start trading blows, so I was neither in the position or frame of mind to see the knife when it came out. It was a short underhand thrust that through and throughed me in the meat over top of my ribs on my left hand side. I grabbed him on reflex, he lost his grip on the blade, we both lost our footing, and we went to the ground. Being larger for once, on top, and probably experiencing the panicked rage of the wounded animal, I took the ground exchange, found my feet, and whipped the piss out of him with a 2 ft section of towing chain I used to pack around. By the time I was done everybody else involved had either had or given whatever they were up for and both groups just sort of limped off to lick their wounds. I was lucky, I learned my lesson, and I never got caught out without an edge of my own again.
Now for letting that nerd flag fly. If you need a reason to engage in a bit of harmless fun in the real world with real people you might even know and like instead of tuning in and tuning out or having pissing matches on Twitter consider the following. Whatever system suits your fancy, wargaming is an opportunity to practice a little tactical and strategic level thinking. That can hardly hurt the ways things are going. And roleplaying is simply an exercise in communal storytelling. Ya know, one of those things people did before technicolor and a wifi connection to pass the time.
I know my less than stellar opinion on an armed rebellion happening anytime soon is gonna ruffle some feathers but I just ain’t seeing it folks. The long march is over and your enemies are in power. We know where this is headed so how much more they gotta do to you? The counter revolution ain’t coming. I say remove yourselves from the seats of power, learn a little self sufficiency, keep your head down, educate your children quietly, and wait for this trainwreck to tip off into the gorge under the weight of its own degeneracy.
Finally, discovering or reconnecting with a tradition. It occurs to me that at some point towards the end I hold up a series of books to the camera for the sole benefit of Lynn and James while the audience gets to sit around and wonder what in the hell I’m on about so let’s try to remedy that. Perhaps you could start with an archeological study of your peoples material culture in the New World such as Terry Bychov’s The Upland South. Or an ethnography compiled at the turn of the last century by an enamored missionary like John Campbell’s Southern Highlander. Maybe a collaborative effort to trace your musical roots such as Wayfaring Strangers by Ritchie & Orr.
If you want to trace a deeper history you could possibly try something like The Faded Map: Lost Kingdoms of Scotland by Alistair Moffat. Maybe you have an interest in the literary history of your progenitors like the Welsh Bardic tradition compiled in The Four Books of Wales by William Skene. Or just possibly you’ve wondered how your ancestors governed themselves as you’d find in The Brehon Laws by Laurence Ginnell. Your inheritance awaits you if you’re willing to find and gather up the broken pieces.

This podcast is coming to you from January 31. It includes grocery talk, which you know is my favorite topic. I don't think we talk much current events, so this one doesn't have as much of a time capsule effect, but it is certainly pre-corona and pre-CWII.
As part of my research on how to be a better podcaster, I once listened to an episode of Red Scare. Two smart, medicated millennial girls smoke cigarettes and discuss celebrities, social media and plastic surgery after reading an essay published in the New Yorker or some other important outlet. They are socialists (they live in NYC) but not feminists. From what I heard, there can be no overlap whatsoever between the Crackpot Podcast and the Red Scare Podcast, allowing of course, for Crackpot listeners who might find the young ladies attractive and wish to give them money. However, James addresses this in today's pod and encourages such men to unsubscribe from the Crackpot.

Happy Mother's Day! Are you smarter than a school teacher? Yes, I am quite confident you are. Among college graduates, education majors are generally the bottom of the barrel, it's an especially common course of study for those admitted based on melanin levels rather than other qualities. If you didn't go to college, or didn't even finish high school, but you can follow one of LaFond's paragraph length sentences with six or more dependent clauses, then I still feel really good about your odds. It was an absolute pleasure to meet and speak with Sean and Skylar. They are a wonderful family to look to for an example and encouragement to those of you who haven't reached that stage of your life yet, or those whose children are grown, or those who despair of the future. Spending time with and educating your children are one and the same. You are doing it whether you are being intentional or not. While I was editing this episode, my older daughter came to my desk and asked to listen. I share the earbuds with her and showed her the wave forms on the screen that corresponded to the voices she heard. She watched as I deleted a bit of dead air or stuttering and she soon began calling them out to me as she heard them, telling me where I should trim. That sure made me feel good as a mom. Sorry for being away so long. Back in January, I got really sick, it may even have been corona. Then in February, my girls and I got what I think was norovirus, lots of vomiting for the three of us, which is the hardest on me, both for myself and for caring for the little and trying to keep the house clean. After that, I was an early observer on the Wuhanic Plague, and found myself following events closely, and correctly predicting many developments. Since then, we have adapted to life on lockdown and I have gotten Crackpot work back on track. So thank you for bearing with me, and for joining us in this little pre-corona time capsule.

Barbarism vs. Civilization anticipates much of the social weakness which has been revealed by the corona crisis. Some time ago, James and I discussed Cracker-Boy, his major Plantation America work. I mentioned the clothing line Carcel, which is the Spanish word for jail. Carcel is a clothing company founded by two Danish women to exploit captive labor forces located near the production of luxury materials, alpaca wool in Peru, and silk in Thailand. I mined their website to explore the spiritual connection to Plantation America, the worship of capital, and the unfree working conditions that have never left us. The large font texts below are direct quotes from the website.
Labor Inputs vs Material Inputs
Broadly speaking, any manufacturing process will have two major costs, the materials and the labor. Carcel is predicated on providing luxury goods with absolutely no compromise on the natural fibers that form the material input of their final product.
The manufacturing process for knits favors conserving materials and uses more labor, plus smaller, cheaper machines. How convenient that the labor is virtually free, that is to say, unfree.
One webpage boasts that their designs are made "fully fashioned." That means that every piece in the pattern for a garment is knitted separately, rather than cut by machine from a large bolt of cloth. This manufacturing process is more labor intensive, but if done with skill, results in a higher quality finished product, and so you begin to understand the appeal of unfree labor.
They boast about the premium alpaca wool and the sustainability of grazing alpaca in the Andes, as though these were things they came up with, rather than the technology of the natives of this marginal landscape, who have a history of slavery and subjugation reaching back way before Columbus.
By starting in Peru we are situated in a country where the poverty-related crime rate for women is at it’s worst to date.
Hmm, what could be causing this increase in poverty related crime? Why, the drug trade of course!

When they all go back to work Fanny, our little hand knitting machine, approaches me with a ton of questions. Like all the girls, she is eager to hear how the world is responding to the products that they have spent hours and hours on giving love and care.
Various family groups are featured modeling the clothing. It's unclear how they are related to the company but clearly they are not imprisoned. The clothing featured retains a prison aesthetic. Drab colors and simple shapes, no embellishments such as beading or embroidery, no pleats or folds to waste material. This is Nordic austerity in fashion form.
Above is Eleuteria, it was her story that made me lose my cool on the podcast. She left her husband and made some money in the drug trade, in Peru, that has to mean cocaine, right? The party drug of wealthy Americans and Europeans.
These bitches actually call out factories for poor labor conditions!
Factories then have to compromise on labour wages, hours and safety. The women we work with have been imprisoned as a direct result of their poverty. Women arrested in Peru are often young, single mothers without an education who commit non-violent crimes in order to provide for their families.
The Puritan link between a person's industrial output and their intrinsic value is present. An unmonetized life is no life at all.
Their craftsmanship becomes a piece of their identity. They learn to no longer define themselves by their past actions but instead by the hard work that they put into cultivating a better future for themselves and their families.
In fairness, these girls aren't into paying their Danish workers either, in an ad for a photographer:
The position is unpaid but we promise a steep learning curve and a lot of responsibility that will help you grow your career. We would love to have you full-time, start date is flexible and we would love you to stay with us for a minimum period of 4 months, preferably longer.

They don’t work with unclear instructions and they expect measurements on the nanometer. We’ve quickly gotten to know all of the women and they’ve shared their stories with us.
A woman in the Thai prison, One, has been sentenced to life in prison for trafficking methamphetamine but the blog post oddly mentions her preparation for life after prison.
Another Thai woman, Mem, is intelligent and savvy and serves as the manager and interpreter.
To us, they are employees in our company rather than prisoners.
I am no marxist, but the experiment in globalized capitalism has been a disaster on all levels except the availability of inexpensive electronics and calories. All I can say is that I favor localism not globalism, authority and protection of subjects as requirements of governance. Who is responsible for the welfare of these women? Whoever it is has failed. In any case, the incentive structure of prison labor is unacceptable.

Thank you to Bronze Age Pervert, the voice of sanity in the war against reality, whose recent piece, "America's Delusional Elite is Done," prompted me to complete and publish this, and sorry for making you scroll past this so you can get to the CRACKPOT PODCAST, yes, it's here, just keep scrolling.
BAP criticizes our egregious elite, yet elides the call to name or describe the best form of government. It isn't his responsibility to do so. A critique of the leviathan that owns virtually everyone on earth in no way implies the requirement to put forth an alternative, but I will humbly submit mine:
The best form of government is to be ruled by strong, wise and just men. Strong, yes, mentally of course, but physical strength is non-negotiable. Every leader has blood on his hands, through all of history and to the present day, every single one. I want a leader who can kill with his own hands. One of the most embarrassing moments of the Obama presidency was when a video of his workout was leaked. This man, who winces as he bounces on bird legs with ten pound dumbbells, this man is calling drone strikes? It's disgusting. I applaud BAP's call for beauty, physical culture and vitality and also wish to see young men training in the combat arts:
BAP tells us that the present American regime is tyrannical on par with the late Soviet Union. This is true, but it's also different. Orwell and Huxley have been reconciled in the corporatization and crowdsourcing of social control. I don't need to tell you how many rightish people have been unpersonned, lives ruined by so-called justice, while our attackers are unpunished and celebrated.
The law of declining virulence in epidemiology may or may not be true. It's the idea that a plague that kills too effectively quickly burns out, but a disease that leaves most infected vectors alive can continue in the host population forever, like the common cold rather than the Spanish flu. America doesn't need Gulags, it doesn't even need cops very much, though we have huge numbers of them. Americans are bound in slavery by all encompassing consumerism and the thought models supported by our decentralized politico-corporate elite, the materialist heirs of our founders.
I also want to take this opportunity, as a WOMAN, to express my visceral disgust with men who pretend to wield authority but are incapable of defending their own physical autonomy, never mind that of their close loved ones, and could never, ever, ever hope to command loyal warriors or conquer nations. These men who appeal to collective force, who place themselves above others on the basis of their intellect or some natural "aristocracy," or even simply their male sex, they are revolting. Aristocracy must be gained by the battle axe. A king must earn his crown with his sword. Do you hear me Moldbug????
